Development of 80 junctions in metro corridors.

Telangana Chief Secretary Rajiv Sharma recently directed the Principal Secretary, Municipal Administration & Urban Development, M.G. Gopal to conduct a meeting with all the police and civic chiefs of the capital to prepare an action plan for developing the 80 road junctions in three metro rail corridors.

He called for a comprehensive DPR to be prepared for developing the junctions keeping in view the post metro rail construction scenario. A report on the security plan of metro rail depots and stations should be prepared after holding necessary discussions with the Home Department and ensure it is submitted in the next Special Task Force (STF) meeting.

Dr. Sharma was presiding over the weekly STF meeting in the Secretariat on the progress of metro rail works after HMR MD N.V.S. Reddy made a detailed presentation on the Action Taken Report (ATR) on the decisions of CS of 15{+t}{+h}STF meeting held earlier this month.

The CS also wanted the construction of third bridge connecting Mahatma Gandhi Bus Station (MGBS) to Rang Mahal junction to be taken up on top priority to ease the congestion at the RTC depot. HMR authorities were advised to get a detailed project report (DPR) prepared within a month while the GHMC special officer & commissioner take up the construction of third bridge duly including this work in the priority projects of the civic body.

About the status of acquisition of properties in road widening on the three metro rail corridors, Collectors of Hyderabad & Ranga Reddy as well as the GHMC Commissioner were instructed to expedite the process of acquisition on priority for the balance 247 properties.

All the utilities firms like the telephones, water board, power and others to come out with simplified procedures to expedite the shifting of pipelines and poles. Principal Secretary, R&B, Sunil Sharma, Hyderabad Police Commissioner M. Mahendar Reddy, Cyberabad Police Commissioner C.V. Anand; HMWS&SB MD Jagadeeshwar, Hyderabad Collector, K. Nirmala, Special Secretary, Minorities Welfare Department Syed Omer Jaleel, L&T MRH MD V.B. Gadgil and other senior officials were present.
