Demand to set up auditorium.
Tamil Nadu Kalai Ilakkiya Perumandram (TNKIP) has demanded the government to set up a public auditorium in Tiruvannamalai where the civil society can hold literary, cultural and other public events.
Conference of TNKIP's town unit held recently passed a resolution to this effect. Lack of a public auditorium in the town is felt by different people and groups at different times.
The town, home to several literary movements and birth place of number of literary and art forms, has number of serene locations to hold outdoor events.
But when it comes to convene an event indoor the organizers are forced to spend exorbitant money to hire a marriage hall.
But still, light and acoustic arrangements and, ambience of these halls are not appropriate for conducting literary and cultural events, the participants felt.
State Secretary P. Anbu senior functionaries like A.K. Arasu were among the participants.
