DCM Shriram Secures 1,000-Unit Order from Maersk for India’s First Sea Cargo Container.

DCM Shriram Group has delivered its first India-made sea cargo container to Danish shipping major Maersk, marking a significant milestone for domestic manufacturing in a segment long dominated by Chinese suppliers.

The company said Maersk has placed an additional order for 1,000 containers, signalling the start of a scaled commercial partnership following the successful delivery of the first unit, which was formally handed over at an event recently.

The development is seen as a boost to India’s manufacturing capabilities in the global shipping container industry, where production has historically been concentrated in China.
