Craftsman Automation Expands Manufacturing Footprint with ₹250 Crore Hosur Facility.
Craftsman Automation Ltd will invest ₹250 crore to establish a new manufacturing facility in Hosur, Tamil Nadu, to cater to rising demand from automotive original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) in southern India.
In a regulatory filing on Wednesday, the Coimbatore-based manufacturer of aluminium casting products and powertrain components for the automotive and industrial engineering sectors said the project will be implemented in two phases. The first phase will involve an investment of about ₹100 crore, followed by a second phase with an outlay of around ₹150 crore.
The company said the proposed manufacturing facility is expected to be commissioned within six to eight months.
Craftsman Automation currently operates aluminium products manufacturing facilities across southern India, supplying primarily to leading two-wheeler and passenger vehicle OEMs. The company said its aluminium products division is operating at around 85 per cent capacity utilisation, necessitating the expansion to meet incremental customer demand.
