BDO India to Establish BDO EDGE, India-based GCC in Noida
BDO India, a prominent member of the BDO global network of accounting and advisory firms, is gearing up to launch a Global Capability Centre (GCC) in Noida, Uttar Pradesh, under a newly formed entity named BDO EDGE (Exceptional Delivery for Global Enterprises).
The establishment of BDO EDGE, an India-based GCC, is the outcome of a collaborative effort among BDO member firms in India, the United States, the United Kingdom, and Germany. This partnership brings together BDO firms operating in four of the world's top six economies by GDP.
Functioning as an independent member of the BDO network, BDO EDGE aims to enhance the capabilities and resources of member firms and their independent alliance programs. Operating on a 24/7 service model, the GCC anticipates hiring 5,000 professionals over the next 3-4 years.
Milind Kothari, Managing Partner of BDO India, expressed enthusiasm for this milestone, emphasizing the opportunities it presents for business growth and employment creation. BDO EDGE will offer a wide range of services, including tax, assurance, accounting, outsourcing, advisory, and technology-led solutions, delivered by highly skilled professionals in India, to BDO firms and their alliance programs.
With the addition of BDO EDGE, India will host three independent BDO entities—BDO India LLP, BDO EDGE, and BDO RISE. Wayne Berson, CEO of BDO USA, welcomed the strategic addition of BDO EDGE to the network, highlighting the benefits it brings to engagement teams worldwide.
To spearhead the initiative, BDO EDGE has appointed Sourabh Mukherjee as its Chief Business Officer (CBO). Mukherjee, a chartered accountant, brings valuable experience from his previous role in BDO RISE's executive leadership team.
Looking ahead, the BDO brand in India aims to grow its employee count to 30,000 by 2028, including the expansion of BDO EDGE. This initiative is seen as a significant contributor to India's talent landscape and economy.
Paul Eagland, Managing Partner of BDO UK, emphasized the importance of rapid and round-the-clock service delivery in today's business landscape, with BDO EDGE poised to meet these demands effectively. Similarly, Andrea Bruckner, Managing Partner and CEO of BDO Germany, expressed excitement about the collaboration, affirming its commitment to delivering excellence to clients worldwide.
