AVPL International has announced plans to establish a state-of-the-art drone manufacturing facility in the Bihta Industrial Area of Bihar, which is expected to generate significant employment opportunities. The facility, supported by the Bihar Industrial Area Development Authority, is set to create jobs for around 10,000 youth, including 200 in-house employees.
The 16,000 sq. ft. facility, with an investment of ₹15 crore, will have the capacity to produce up to 24,000 drones annually. These drones will serve multiple sectors, including agriculture, and are expected to play a crucial role in improving farming practices. The project aligns with the Government of India’s ‘Make in India’ initiative, aimed at fostering local manufacturing and creating regional economic opportunities.
Preet Sandhuu, Founder and Managing Director of AVPL International, stated, “This project is more than just a manufacturing facility; it’s a step towards empowering local communities, building capacity, and fostering drone entrepreneurship. By leveraging local talent, we aim to boost regional growth and contribute to India’s global leadership in drone technology.”
The drones produced at this facility are expected to revolutionize agricultural practices by introducing precision farming techniques that enhance crop management, improve yields, and reduce operational costs.
This advancement is particularly beneficial for states in the northeastern and eastern regions, including West Bengal, Jharkhand, Odisha, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, and Tripura, where technology-driven solutions can significantly improve agricultural productivity.
