AP plans 1,000 MW solar park near Guntur.

The Andhra Pradesh Government has drawn up plans for a 1,000 MW solar park in Guntur district.

A detailed review of the power sector is now under way at AP Genco here to work out modalities for fresh capacity addition. A note on 24x7 power supply will be prepared within next 10 days.

This move comes in the backdrop of Andhra Pradesh seeking to offer 24x7 power supply from October 2, 2014.

The Government of Telangana had earlier announced its plan to set up a 1,000 MW solar park in the backward district of Mahbubnagar in collaboration with Solar Energy Corporation of India.
