Andhra Pradesh Targets December 2026 for 4 New Port Completions: CM Naidu.

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has issued a firm directive to state officials, urging them to accelerate the completion of four key new ports and an equal number of fishing harbours by December 2026. The ambitious deadline was set during a comprehensive review meeting held in Amaravati recently.

The Chief Minister specifically instructed officials to ensure that Phase-1 works for the Machilipatnam, Ramayapatnam, and Mulapeta ports, as well as the Kakinada Gateway Port, are fully operational within the stipulated timeframe. This push for rapid development underscores the state government's commitment to leveraging its extensive coastline for economic growth.

In parallel, Naidu also mandated the swift completion of Phase-1 construction for the Juvvaladinne, Nizampatnam, Machilipatnam, and Uppada fishing harbours by the same December 2026 deadline. These projects are poised to significantly boost the livelihoods of the state's fishing communities and enhance marine product exports.

During the meeting, CM Naidu emphasized that ports and fishing harbours are "valuable economic assets" for Andhra Pradesh, highlighting the critical need for their swift operationalization to unlock the state's full potential. He reiterated his vision for Andhra Pradesh to emerge as a major maritime hub.

Further bolstering the state's logistical infrastructure, Naidu also announced the government's plans to establish a dedicated logistics corporation. This new entity is expected to streamline and optimize supply chain operations across the state, complementing the development of the new ports and fishing harbours. The move is anticipated to attract further investment and facilitate smoother trade and commerce in Andhra Pradesh.
