In a significant move, Waaree Energies revealed its strategic plan to inaugurate its inaugural manufacturing facility in the United States. The facility, nestled in Brookshire, Houston, aims to kick off operations with a robust initial capacity, churning out an impressive 3 gigawatts (GW) of solar modules annually by the close of 2024.
Anticipating substantial growth, Waaree has earmarked an investment totaling up to $1 billion over the upcoming four-year period. This infusion of funds is geared toward amplifying their annual module manufacturing prowess, targeting an ambitious milestone of 5 GW by 2027. This expansion drive is poised to position the company among the foremost solar module manufacturers within the US market, as indicated by company sources.
In an effort to bolster its integrated operations, Waaree also disclosed plans to introduce a state-of-the-art solar cell facility, expected to seamlessly integrate into their operational framework by 2025.
Forecasts indicate that the venture will substantially contribute to employment, with the new facility projected to generate over 1,500 jobs at full capacity.
