Telangana CM Revanth Reddy inaugurates new Institute of Medical Sciences.

The Telangana government is working to expand public healthcare infrstructure, with plans to add 10,000 beds across the State, Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy said recently.

Speaking at the inauguration of the Marri Chenna Reddy Telangana Institute of Medical Sciences (TIMS) hospital at Sanath Nagar, the Chief Minister said healthcare and education were among the government’s top priorities, along with agriculture and women’s welfare.

Reddy said the State government had spent ₹21,800 crore on the Medical and Health Department over the past two years as part of its efforts to strengthen healthcare delivery.

He said ₹2,700 crore had been allocated to the Aarogyasri health insurance programme, while another ₹2,526 crore had been provided through the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund (CMRF).

Together, the two initiatives accounted for ₹5,226 crore in expenditure aimed at meeting the healthcare needs of economically weaker sections, he said.

The Chief Minister said the government would continue to focus on expanding healthcare infrastructure and improving access to quality medical services across Telangana.
