Stone for Pattiseema Project.

Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu will lay the foundation stone for the Pattiseema Lift Irrigation Scheme recently.

The state government wants to complete the project, aimed at tapping surplus Godavari River waters flowing into the sea and diverting it to the Krishna River for supply to the delta region of Krishna and Godavari and backward Rayalaseema, complete it in about 12 months.

'The project will solve water woes of Rayalaseema bringing respite for farmers. Over 3,000 TMC of flood water draining into the sea from Godavari will be diverted to solve the water needs of Rayalaseema region through this project,' the State government said in a press release recently.
