"Samsung and IISc Ink MoU to Establish Quantum Technology Lab"
Samsung Semiconductor India Research (SSIR) and the esteemed Indian Institute of Science (IISc) have forged a dynamic partnership, poised to catalyze the establishment of a cutting-edge quantum technology lab. The primary objective of this collaboration is to create a platform for pioneering research and learning, offering invaluable opportunities to faculty members and students pursuing advanced studies in disciplines such as physics, engineering, computer science, and mathematics.
A pivotal Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was officially inked, bringing together Balajee Sowrirajan, the Chief Vice President and Managing Director of SSIR, and Prof Govindan Rangarajan, the Director of IISc, in a shared vision for the quantum technology lab. The lab will be dedicated to the integration of cryogenic control chips with qubits, single photon sources, and detectors. Simultaneously, it will address the critical challenges of reliability in quantum technologies.
