REL appoints consultant for audit services

Mumbai: Reliance Energy (REL) has appointed Mitcon Consultancy Services to conduct energy audits across 33 sites in Mumbai.

'These sites include various super malls, bank offices, large commercial complexes and hotels. The audits will have more emphasis on electrical energy and utilities like, transformers, motors, distribution system, air conditioning and lighting,' Mitcon Consultancy Services Executive Vice-President (energy and carbon services) Deepak Zade said.

'Each audit will take in 4-6 weeks and we will be doing 33 audits in one year. The total cost of the project is Rs 38 lakh and electrical energy savings will be to the tune of 5-10 per cent of the total energy bill after the audit,” he added.

Mitcon is a 25-year old consultancy organisation promoted by financial institutions, banks and state organisations acts as a bureau of energy efficiency (BEE).
