JSW Vijayanagar Metallics Launches Hot Strip Mill Production

JSW Vijayanagar Metallics, a subsidiary of JSW Steel, has initiated operations at its hot strip mill (HSM) located within the integrated steel plant in Vijayanagar, Karnataka. The mill, boasting a capacity of five million metric tons per annum (MTPA), has already completed its inaugural dispatch, marking the commencement of production.

Equipped with cutting-edge technology, the HSM facility is capable of manufacturing plates and coils. It features advanced components such as digital reheating furnaces, an evaporative cooling system, and a waste heat recovery system. Additionally, the facility includes an attached edger in finishing mills to ensure precise width control, auto steering control, and the production of superior value-added grades with uniform mechanical properties.

Introduced on March 17, the HSM facility has undergone rigorous trial runs for quality and delivery testing. With successful outcomes, the facility has now transitioned into commercial manufacturing and sales operations.
