ITC Hotels Set to Unveil First International Luxury Property in Sri Lanka by End of FY24
In a significant stride towards international expansion, ITC's Hotel Group, a prominent luxury hotel chain in India, is set to unveil its inaugural international luxury hotel in Sri Lanka within the next two months. The luxury property, named ITC Ratnadipa, is situated in Colombo and is established under the subsidiary WelcomHotels Lanka. Boasting a substantial investment of approximately ₹3,000 crore, the hotel will feature a total of 352 rooms, marking a noteworthy milestone for the renowned hotel chain.
Zubin Songadwala, Vice President – Operations (South & East) at ITC Hotels, made the announcement while highlighting the reopening of the Welcomhotel by ITC Hotels on Cathedral Road in Chennai. He stated, "By the end of this fiscal, we will be launching our maiden international venture in Sri Lanka where ITC Hotels has invested in building a luxury property." The strategic move underscores ITC's commitment to expanding its global footprint and diversifying its portfolio.
Additionally, Songadwala affirmed that the hotel group remains committed to unveiling new properties across different regions of India, citing a robust pipeline of projects. ITC Hotel Group currently manages properties under six distinct brands, namely ITC Hotels, Mementos, Welcomhotel, Storii, Fortune, and WelcomHeritage. With around 130 properties and approximately 12,000 keys in 80 destinations across the country, the hotel chain continues to play a pivotal role in shaping India's hospitality landscape.
