Ericsson Expan.ds India R&D Presence with New Bengaluru Centre.
Ericsson is expanding its footprint in India with the launch of a new Radio Access Network (RAN) Software R&D unit in Bengaluru. The centre will initially focus on developing 5G and 5G Advanced features for Ericsson’s 5G baseband, working closely with the company’s global RAN software teams.
Bengaluru, one of India’s fastest-growing technology hubs, is recognized for its strong software engineering talent and the presence of major global telecom players, making it an ideal location for R&D operations.
“Setting up the R&D Centre in India for RAN software development represents a significant step forward towards strengthening our R&D operations in India. Even as we leverage Indian software talent, we are also contributing to building the knowledge base and the telecom ecosystem in the country,” said Nitin Bansal, Managing Director of Ericsson India and Head of Network Solutions, Market Area South East Asia, Oceania and India.
