Cochin Shipyard Signs MoU with Drydocks World, a DP World Subsidiary.

Cochin Shipyard Limited (CSL) and Drydocks World, a DP World company, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to jointly develop ship repair clusters and explore offshore fabrication opportunities in India. The agreement, driven by the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways, aims to modernize India’s maritime infrastructure and strengthen the ship repair ecosystem by integrating global best practices.

The MoU was signed at the "CEO-Connect: Dubai-India Economic Ties & Opportunities" event in Mumbai, in the presence of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Indian Commerce and Industry Minister Shri Piyush Goyal, DP World Group Chairman Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem, CSL CMD Shri Madhu S Nair, and other dignitaries.

The collaboration will focus on establishing world-class ship repair clusters in Kochi (Kerala) and Vadinar (Gujarat), while also partnering with major ports and other government entities to enhance offshore fabrication and marine engineering capabilities.

Aligned with the Government of India’s Maritime India Vision 2030 and the Maritime AmritKaal Vision 2047, the partnership is expected to expand India’s ship repair capacity, generate employment, and bolster the country’s position as a global maritime hub under the ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ initiative.
