Uttar Pradesh Government Submits Modified DPR for Noida Metro Aqua Line Extension to Centre.

The Uttar Pradesh government has submitted the modified detailed project report (DPR) for the extension of the Noida Metro Aqua Line to the Centre for final approval, officials announced recently.

The Rs. 2,991.60 crore project, recently approved by the Uttar Pradesh Cabinet, aims to extend the Aqua Line corridor from Sector 51 to Knowledge Park-V in Greater Noida. Lokesh M, Managing Director of the Noida Metro Rail Corporation (NMRC), described the project as a crucial step in improving public transport infrastructure, enhancing urban connectivity, and alleviating traffic congestion in the region.

The proposed extension spans 17.435 km and will introduce 11 new stations, including Sector 51, Sector 61 (interchange with the DMRC Blue Line), Sector 70, Sector 122, Sector 123, Greater Noida Sector 4, Eco Tech-12, Greater Noida Sectors 2, 3, 10, and 12, and Knowledge Park-V.

Lokesh M highlighted that the extension would significantly improve access to key areas in Noida and Greater Noida, providing commuters with much-needed relief by reducing traffic on busy routes like Vikas Marg and the Noida-Greater Noida Link Road.

With a total estimated cost of Rs 2,991.60 crore, the project will also enhance connectivity with both the Aqua Line and the DMRC’s Blue Line, further integrating the metro system for commuters in the region.
