TVS Motor Launches Battery-as-a-Service Model Across Entire EV Lineup.

TVS Motor Company (TVSM) has introduced battery-as-a-service (BaaS) across its electric vehicle portfolio, offering customers a more flexible ownership model while lowering the upfront cost of its EV scooters.

The company has also expanded its electric two-wheeler lineup with the launch of the TVS Orbiter V1, equipped with a 1.8 kWh battery.

With the addition of the Orbiter V1 and the introduction of the BaaS model, TVS Motor’s electric scooter range will now start at ₹49,999 (ex-showroom Delhi, inclusive of PM e-Drive benefits).

Under the BaaS model, customers can subscribe to the battery separately instead of purchasing it upfront, reducing the initial purchase price of the vehicle. The company said the model also provides long-term battery assurance and greater peace of mind for customers.

Customers who prefer to buy the TVS Orbiter V1 without the BaaS option can purchase the scooter at ₹84,500 (ex-showroom Delhi, inclusive of PM e-Drive), the company said in a release.
