TS keen on opening Pusuru bridge for Pushkaralu.
The government is contemplating to inaugurate the 1.8-km length high level bridge across the Godavari between Pusuru of Wajedu mandal in Khammam district and Mullakatta in Eturunagaram mandal of Warangal district, at the earliest in view of the ensuing Godavari Pushkaralu.
Minister for Roads & Buildings T. Nageswara Rao inspected the bridge works at Pusuru on Tuesday. Work on the high level bridge has almost been completed, barring the final phase of works pertaining to approach roads, sources said. Construction of the bridge began at an estimated cost of Rs. 339 crore over three years ago. Once commissioned, the high level bridge will enhance road connectivity to several villages situated along the NH 163, the crucial road link between Hyderabad and Bhoopalapatnam in Chhattisgarh. The new bridge is expected to reduce the distance between the remote tribal sub-plan mandal of Wajedu and Hyderabad and cut down travel time between Bhoopalapatnam and Hyderabad significantly, sources said.
