Transformers and Rectifiers Lands ₹1,000-Crore-plus Order from Power Grid Corporation.
Transformers and Rectifiers (India) Ltd (TARIL) has secured an order worth more than ₹1,000 crore from state-owned Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd (PGCIL) for the manufacture and supply of transformers of various ratings, along with associated works.
The Ahmedabad-based company said the contract will be executed over the next 30 months in accordance with the terms of the letter of award.
TARIL manufactures power, distribution and specialty transformers with capacities ranging from 5 MVA to 1,000 MVA and voltage classes of up to 1,200 kV.
The company classified the contract as an "Ultra Mega Order", making it one of its largest project wins to date. The order comes amid increased investments in India's power transmission infrastructure to support rising electricity demand, renewable energy integration and grid modernisation.
The contract is expected to further strengthen TARIL's order book and reinforce its position in the domestic power transmission equipment market. PGCIL is India's largest interstate power transmission utility and plays a key role in developing and operating the country's transmission network.
