SRMIST, Pon Pure Chemicals to Set Up Oil-Field Chemical Research Lab.

SRM Institute of Science and Technology (SRMIST) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Pon Pure Chemicals to set up a joint laboratory focused on oil-field chemical product development and analytical testing.

The proposed facility will be established with equipment investment estimated at ₹75 lakh. Under the collaboration, Pon Pure Chemicals will contribute ₹20 lakh towards equipment procurement through its corporate social responsibility (CSR) funds, while SRMIST will fund the remaining cost.

Commenting on the partnership, C Muthamizhchelvan, Vice-Chancellor of SRMIST, said the collaboration would enable students and faculty to participate in cutting-edge, industry-relevant research, while also supporting the development of indigenous technologies in oil-field chemicals.
