SRF Announces ₹750 Crore Investment for New Plants.

Diversified chemical firm SRF Ltd. is set to invest nearly ₹750 crore to bolster its manufacturing capabilities with the establishment of a new agro-chemical plant in Gujarat and a BOPP film manufacturing facility in Indore. This strategic expansion aims to meet growing market demand and strengthen the company's position across its varied business segments.

The Gurugram-based conglomerate, which boasts a broad portfolio including fluorochemicals, specialty chemicals, performance films & foil, technical textiles, and coated and laminated fabrics, had its board approve the new ventures on July 23.

A significant portion of the investment, ₹250 crore, is earmarked for the construction of a facility in Dahej, Gujarat, dedicated to agro-chemical production. This new plant will have the capacity to produce 12,000 tonnes per annum of an agrochemical intermediate, catering to the agricultural sector's evolving needs. Details regarding the investment for the BOPP film facility in Indore are expected to be released soon.
