Shree Radhe Shakti Sponge and Power Proposes 25 MW Captive Power Plant in Chhattisgarh
Raipur, Chhattisgarh: Shree Radhe Shakti Sponge and Power Private Limited has proposed establishing a 25 MW captive power plant at Champa and Kota villages in Tilda tehsil, Raipur district, Chhattisgarh, as part of its planned integrated steel manufacturing project.
The proposed power facility will comprise a 16 MW waste heat recovery boiler (WHRB)-based generation system and a 9 MW fluidised bed combustion (FBC)-based power generation unit. The development aims to meet the electricity requirements of the company's proposed steel manufacturing operations while improving energy efficiency and reducing dependence on external power supplies.
The waste heat recovery system will utilise heat generated during sponge iron production to generate electricity, supporting improved energy utilisation. The FBC unit will provide additional captive power generation capacity.
The power project forms part of a larger proposed integrated steel complex comprising sponge iron, steel billets, rolled steel products and ferroalloy manufacturing facilities.
Currently at the conceptual and planning stage, the project is seeking environmental clearance from the relevant regulatory authorities.
The project-specific investment, equipment suppliers, construction schedule and commissioning timeline have not been separately disclosed. Implementation will depend on obtaining the necessary statutory approvals.
