Rs. 105 Crore to be Released for Water Grid Survey Soon.

Chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has said that Rs. 105 crore will be released for survey of water grid and asked the officials to complete the survey at the earliest.

Taking note of the preliminary report on the water grid prepared by the officials in a review meeting at the Secretariat recently, the chief minister said water grid project was taken up to ensure drinking water through tap connection for every household in the state.

Water from Jurala, Srisailam, Nagarjuna Sagar, Paleru, Kinnerasani, Wyra, Ramappa, LMD, MMD, Kadem, Yellampalle, Komaram Bheem, SRSP, Gaddenna, Nizam Sagar, Manjeera and other projects will be taken up and will be supplied to the households through pipelines under the Water Grid project, he said and added that as Telangana state is in both Krishna and Godavari basin, water from both the basins would be utilised for the water grid. He wanted the tanks to be filled through flood canals.

Stating that 1.32 lakh kilometres of pipeline will be required for the project, he directed the officials to prepare estimates for the required pipes for the project and call for tenders.
