Rajshri Iron Industries Proposes New Ferroalloy Manufacturing Plant in West Bengal

West Bardhaman, West Bengal: Rajshri Iron Industries Private Limited has proposed establishing a new ferroalloy manufacturing plant at Mondalpur, Jamuria, in West Bardhaman district, West Bengal, as part of its plans to strengthen its presence in the iron and steel manufacturing sector.

The proposed facility will comprise two submerged arc furnaces, each rated at 15 MVA, designed to manufacture different ferroalloy products. Depending on the production configuration, the plant will have an annual capacity of 51,300 tonnes of silico manganese (SiMn), 63,915 tonnes of ferro manganese (FeMn), or 27,849 tonnes of ferro silicon (FeSi).

Ferroalloys are essential inputs in steelmaking, contributing to improved strength, hardness, corrosion resistance and other metallurgical properties. The proposed facility is expected to support domestic steel producers by improving the availability of these critical raw materials.

The development complements Rajshri Iron Industries' proposed sponge iron capacity expansion at the same location, potentially strengthening its integrated manufacturing operations.

The project is currently at the conceptual and planning stage, with environmental clearance being sought from the relevant authorities.

The company has not disclosed the estimated investment, construction schedule, equipment suppliers or expected commissioning date. Implementation will depend on obtaining the necessary regulatory approvals and completing subsequent project development activities.
