Neyveli Lignite Corp's UP project hits roadblock.

The Rs. 14,000-crore 1,980 MW (3X600 MW) coal-based Ghatampur Thermal Power Project being implemented by Neyveli Lignite Corporation (NLC) in Uttar Pradesh has hit a roadblock.

The Union Ministry of Coal had allocated the Pachwara-South Block in Dumka district of Jharkhand for the project. However, residents of the area have objected to mining, leading to a law and order problem, said B. Surender Mohan, Chairman and Managing Director, NLC.
