ADNOC Considers Early EPC Contractor Engagement for Umm Shaif Offshore Oilfield Expansion in Abu Dhabi
21 October 2026: ADNOC Offshore is considering early engagement with engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contractors for the Umm Shaif Long-Term Development Plan Phase 2.1 (LTDP-2.1) project offshore Abu Dhabi, UAE. The proposed development aims to maintain crude oil production at approximately 390,000 barrels per day, with peak capacity reaching 430,000 barrels daily. Located around 150 kilometres northwest of Abu Dhabi, the project involves constructing a new combined artificial island equipped with drilling, processing, utilities and supporting infrastructure. Additional works include offshore wellhead towers, platforms, pipelines, water-injection systems and an optimised crude-stabilisation train at Das Island. ADNOC Offshore previously completed an expression-of-interest exercise for two major EPC packages in June 2026. The proposed early contractor engagement would precede formal EPC tendering, allowing potential bidders to assess technical requirements and execution strategies. The project's investment value remains undisclosed, with contractor selection and procurement timelines yet to be finalised
