L&T Secures Major EPC Contract for Common Central Secretariat Buildings 4 and 5 in New Delhi

21 October 2026: Larsen & Toubro (L&T) has secured a major construction contract from the Central Public Works Department (CPWD) for developing Common Central Secretariat Buildings 4 and 5 along Kartavya Path in New Delhi. The project forms part of the Government of India's Central Vista redevelopment programme. The proposed development comprises two buildings featuring a basement, ground floor and seven upper floors, with a combined built-up area of approximately 32.8 lakh square feet. Executed under the Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) model, L&T's scope includes civil, structural, architectural, mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP) works, along with external infrastructure development. The construction is scheduled for completion within 24 months, followed by a five-year operation and maintenance contract. Awarded to L&T's Public Spaces, Airports & Health business vertical, the project will strengthen central government administrative infrastructure, support the consolidation of government offices and contribute to modernising India's national capital.
