International Firm to Set up Entertainment City in AP.

Eros Investments and Euromax Capital will soon set up a multi-billion dollar 'India Entertainment City' in Andhra Pradesh to boost tourism and entertainment industries.

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed recently between Eros Investments and AP government in the presence of chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu in his secretariat chambers here. Eros Investments is a subsidiary of Eros International PLC, a leading global company which co-produces, acquires and distributes Indian films.

According to a press release, as a part of the project, Eros will create a media city, an amusement park, commercial and residential options, hotel and leisure options and healthcare facilities. The project will bring significant job opportunities in construction, media and tourism industries.

The Entertainment City will have hospitality clusters which will attract a large number of tourists and create cascading economic benefits across support and service sectors in AP. 'The media and entertainment component of the project will feature state-of-the-art pre-production and post-production facilities,' the government said. The project will be taken up with the assistance of leading global Indian and other film industry entities, the release added.
