"HPCL signs long-term LNG deal with ADNOC Gas."

State-run Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd (HPCL) has signed a long-term Sale and Purchase Agreement (SPA) with Abu Dhabi Gas Liquefaction Company (ALNG) for the supply of liquefied natural gas (LNG) over a 10-year period.

ALNG is a subsidiary of ADNOC Gas, a large-scale integrated gas processing and sales company with operations spanning the entire gas value chain.

Under the agreement, HPCL will procure 5 million tonnes per annum (MTPA) of LNG, to be delivered at the Chhara regasification terminal in Gujarat. The terminal was dedicated to the nation by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in September last year.

The oil marketing company said in a statement recently that the deal would support India’s growing natural gas demand and strengthen long-term energy security.
