Hitachi Energy-BHEL Consortium Wins HVDC Terminal Project Contract.

Rajasthan Part I Power Transmission, a subsidiary of Adani Energy Solutions Ltd (AESL), has awarded a contract to a consortium of Hitachi Energy India and Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd (BHEL) for the supply of high-voltage direct current (HVDC) terminals.

The contract involves the design and delivery of bi-pole, bi-directional HVDC terminals for a 6,000 MW, 950-km transmission link connecting Bhadla in Rajasthan to Fatehpur in Uttar Pradesh. The project aims to transmit renewable energy from the Bhadla Renewable Energy Zone (REZ) to industrial and transport hubs in northern India.

Once operational, the link is expected to have the capacity to power up to 60 million households. The transmission system is part of a broader infrastructure initiative awarded to AESL under a tariff-based competitive bidding process.
