Hindusthan National Glass Plans Up to ₹500 Crore Expansion to Strengthen Manufacturing Capacity
Hindusthan National Glass & Industries Limited (HNGIL), one of India's leading glass container manufacturers, plans to invest ₹300–500 crore over the next five years to expand production capacity, modernise manufacturing facilities and strengthen its position in the domestic glass packaging market. The investment follows the company's acquisition by the Madhvani–Turner Group and forms part of its broader operational revival and growth strategy.
The company has already invested approximately ₹700 crore since the takeover to restore manufacturing operations, revive idle furnaces and improve plant efficiency. The proposed additional capital expenditure will support capacity enhancement, equipment modernisation and the introduction of advanced glass manufacturing technologies.
HNGIL is also expanding its Bahadurgarh manufacturing facility in Haryana, where production capacity is planned to increase from 300 tonnes per day to 600 tonnes per day. The expansion is expected to improve supply capabilities for beverage, food, pharmaceutical and other glass packaging industries.
With growing demand for recyclable glass packaging, HNGIL's expansion represents a significant opportunity for suppliers participating in India's industrial manufacturing ecosystem. Plant-wise investment allocations, equipment procurement, project implementation schedules and contractor appointments will be important developments to monitor as the programme progresses.
