Energy-from-Waste Plants to be Set up.

Municipal Administration minister P Narayana said Energy from Waste plants will be set up in all the 13 districts and a Swachh Andhra Corporation has been set up for the purpose.

Addressing a review meeting at Mangalagiri Municipality recently, he said such plants are in operation in Singapore (4) and Tokyo in Japan (21) and after inspecting those plants, tenders for the plants will be called. He said in the next two months, 2.5 lakh individual household latrines (IHHL) will be constructed in 110 municipalities in the state and the plans have been drawn through the Swachh Andhra Corporation. Women SHGs will be made partners in the endeavour and services of final year students of civil and mechanical engineering courses will be used for the purpose.

He said another 2.5 lakh IHHL will be planned in the next phase.

The minister said allocations of the works will be done using geo tagging and Aadhaar cards. Swachh Andhra managing director Muralidhar Reddy and chief engineer Anand Rao were present.
