Chennai airport set for makeover.

Chennai airport will get a Rs. 4-crore face lift with sculptures and murals depicting Tamil culture decorating the entire terminal in the run up to Global Investors Meet to be held in the city in September.

Other initiatives like special cells to receive delegates will be in place, said Chennai Airport Director Deepak Shastri.

'We will improve our house keeping. We are in the process of putting up better terminal management and day-to-day management to constantly monitor the terminal. We will put sculptures and murals, and have sought the help of Tamil Nadu Handicrafts Development Corporation for this,' he told BusinessLine.

'GIM is a golden opportunity to improve things. We have very good officials in the airport to take up the challenge,' he said.
