Bharat Electronics Limited’s ₹562 Crore+ Investment in Uttar Pradesh Defence Corridor Kicks Off with 75-Hectare Land Allotment.
State-owned Bharat Electronics Limited recently kicked off its over ₹562 crore investment in the Uttar Pradesh Defence Industrial Corridor with the allotment of 75 hectares of land in the Chitrakoot node. The project will see BEL establish an advanced manufacturing unit for producing state-of-the-art radar and air defence systems.
The UPDIC has so far attracted more than ₹34,000 crore in investments, with ₹12,000 crore already disbursed across six nodes: Aligarh, Agra, Jhansi, Kanpur, Chitrakoot, and Lucknow. Officials said at least 62 industries have been allotted land across these nodes for production and testing facilities. Notable companies include BrahMos Aerospace Private Ltd, Adani Defence and Aerospace, Aerolloy Technologies Ltd, Werywin Defence Ltd, Nitya Creations, Sankalp Safety, and Amitec Electronics Ltd.
Yogi Adityanath handed over the land allotment letter to BEL Chairman and Managing Director Manoj Jain, highlighting Chitrakoot’s logistical advantages and geographical suitability for the production facility.
