In a major development, the Adani Group has declared a substantial investment of Rs. 12,400 crore in Telangana, marking a significant milestone in the partnership between the Telangana Government and the Adani Group. The investment agreements were formalized in the presence of Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy and Adani Group Chairman Gautam Adani, signifying a collaborative effort to boost economic growth and infrastructure development in the state.
Adani Enterprises Ltd (AEL) is set to lead the investment drive with a commitment of over Rs. 5,000 crore for the establishment of a 100-MW data centre. This cutting-edge data centre will be powered by renewable energy sources and is projected to materialize over the next 5-7 years. AEL plans to collaborate closely with local micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) and start-ups to cultivate a globally competitive supplier base for the project, fostering economic growth and creating employment opportunities for 600 individuals.
Adani Green Energy Ltd (AGEL), another key entity within the Adani Group, will contribute over Rs 5,000 crore towards the creation of two pump storage projects (PSPs) in Telangana. These projects include an 850 MW facility at Koyabestagudem and a 500 MW facility at Nacharam. AGEL's investments are poised to fortify the state's energy infrastructure and contribute significantly to the renewable energy sector.
Ambuja Cements, an entity under the Adani Group following its acquisition, is set to invest Rs 1,400 crore in the establishment of a 6 MTPA cement plant over the next five years. Spanning across 70 acres, the cement plant is expected to enhance Ambuja's production capabilities substantially, offering employment opportunities to over 4,000 individuals, both directly and indirectly.
Adani Defence Systems and Technologies Ltd, another strategic arm of the Adani Group, has committed an investment of over Rs 1,000 crore over the next decade. This investment will support the creation of a comprehensive ecosystem dedicated to the research, development, design, manufacturing, and integration of counter drone and missile systems at the Adani Aerospace Park. The envisioned ecosystem is anticipated to significantly bolster India's defence capabilities while generating employment opportunities for over 1,000 people.
