1st Phase Capital Construction to be Completed by 2019.

The first phase of Amaravati, the new capital city of Andhra Pradesh, will be completed by 2019 and it will have all the head offices of every department and residential quarters for government employees apart from secretariat, Raj Bhavan, courts and other administrative infrastructure, municipal administration minister P Narayana has said.

Addressing mediapersons at CRDA office in Tullur recently, he said there were 21,000 government employees and every facility, including houses, would be provided to them in the new capital region.

He said, till date, 17,840 acre were taken over from farmers in the capital region and by the end of June all the 33,000 acre would be taken over. 'There are 1,135 acre of endowment lands and Wakf Board lands and they will be taken over as per the existing guidelines,' he said.

The minister said master plan for the capital was designed in such a manner that the area where villagers are living was not distrubed. He said that 3,477 acre are in various disputes.

Agriculture minister P Pulla Rao said the new capital was the people’s capital designed keeping in view the future needs. 'Twenty-four per cent will be green and for water management,' he said. Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu will formally perform the 'Bhumi Puja ' and on the request of the farmers will level the ground using 500 tractors. Foundation-stone for the new capital will be laid in October in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, he said.

Both the ministers said a massive public meeting is being organised near Acharya Nagarjuna University (ANU) campus to celebrate the one-year rule of TDP Government on June 8, which will be addressed by CM N Chandrababu Naidu.
