Vedanta Ltd Secures Two Critical Mineral Blocks in Karnataka and Bihar.
Vedanta Ltd announced on Sunday that it has successfully acquired two critical mineral blocks put up for sale by the Ministry of Mines. These blocks are located in Karnataka and Bihar, as detailed in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE).
"The company has been declared as the 'preferred bidder' for the Gollarahatti-Mallenahalli Nickel Chromium and PGE Block and the Genjana Nickel, Chromium and PGE Block," the filing stated.
The Gollarahatti-Mallenahalli Nickel Chromium and PGE Block in Karnataka is at the G4 level of exploration, while the Genjana Nickel, Chromium and PGE Block in Bihar is at the G3 level of exploration. The exploration process for mineral deposits involves four stages: reconnaissance survey (G4), preliminary exploration (G3), general exploration (G2), and detailed exploration (G1).
The two blocks were auctioned in the second and third rounds of critical minerals blocks auction.
