Taj Hotels and Kingdom Projects Announce $100 Million Hospitality and Retail Investments in Bahrain

Manama, Bahrain | November 4, 2026

The Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL) and Bahrain-based Kingdom Projects have announced three major hospitality, dining and retail developments involving a combined investment of $100 million. The agreement was unveiled during the Gateway Gulf Investment Forum held on November 1–2, 2026.

The flagship development, Taj Hotel Downtown Seef, will feature 200 hotel rooms and 80 branded residences, marking Taj Hotels' entry into Bahrain. Construction is expected to commence shortly, with Kingdom Projects serving as the development partner.

The investment programme also includes Bombay Brasserie, a premium Indian restaurant at Bahrain Bay, and a flagship Hamleys retail showroom at The Avenues Bahrain. Interior fit-out works are progressing at both locations, with openings targeted for the first quarter of 2027.

The developments are expected to generate opportunities for construction contractors, interior fit-out specialists, hospitality equipment suppliers and infrastructure service providers, while strengthening Bahrain's tourism, hospitality and retail sectors.
