Suzlon China arm bags orders

Mumbai: Suzlon Energy Tianjin Ltd, China subsidiary of Suzlon Energy Ltd, has announced the signing of two new orders with the Jingneng Group. The contracts are for setting up turbines of 100 MW of capacity, to be delivered by May 2008, according to a press release. The first order calls for a delivery of 33 units of S82 - 1.5 MW turbines, and the second for 40 units of S64 - 1.25MW turbines, translating to another 50 MW of capacity. Mr Andre Horbach, CEO, Suzlon Group, stated, 'With opportunities growing with China's booming economy, we believe it is a key market for wind energy. We are delighted to be associated with one of China's leading power developers,' he said.
