Shree Renuka acquires Brazilian firm

Mumbai: Shree Renuka Sugars has acquired controlling stake in a Brazilian sugar firm.

The company has acquired Brazilian conglomerate Grupo Equipav S A ACUCAR e ALCOOL (Equipav) with an investment of Rs 1,530 crore.

Equipav is regarded as Brazil’s largest sugar and ethanol manufacturers. The deal is the largest by a Indian sugar manufacturer.
