Shree Cement Announces Major ₹1,800 Crore Expansion with Integrated Plant in Meghalaya.

Shree Cement has announced a major greenfield expansion in Northeast India, with its Board of Directors approving the establishment of a new integrated cement plant in Meghalaya, according to a regulatory filing dated April 4, 2026.

The facility will be located in Village Daistong, East Jaintia Hills District, marking Shree Cement’s first manufacturing footprint in the region. The plant will feature a clinker capacity of 0.95 million tonnes per annum (MTPA) and a cement capacity of 0.99 MTPA, with a total investment of approximately ₹1,800 crore. The project is expected to be completed by the quarter ending March 2028.

The expansion aims to meet growing infrastructure and housing demand in the Northeastern states while optimizing the company’s supply chain and reducing logistical costs. The project will be funded through a mix of internal accruals and debt, reflecting Shree Cement’s strong balance sheet and strategic focus on long-term growth.

Once operational, the Meghalaya plant is expected to strengthen Shree Cement’s market position in India’s eastern peripheral markets, reinforcing its presence as a leading cement manufacturer in the country.
