SECI Surpasses 73 GW in Cumulative Renewable Energy Capacity Awards
State-owned Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) announced on Friday that its cumulative awarded capacity for renewable energy projects exceeded 73 GW as of December 31, 2024. SECI, a key Renewable Energy Implementing Agency (REIA) in India, continues to play a pivotal role in advancing the nation’s renewable energy sector and supporting climate goals.
The company’s achievements include receiving an "Excellent" rating for its performance under the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Ministry of New & Renewable Energy (MNRE) for the fiscal year 2023-24, earning a score of 96 out of 100.
In the financial year 2023-24, SECI recorded significant growth, with a 22.13% increase in its annual trading volume, reaching 42.935 billion units. The company also posted a total income of ₹13,135.80 crore, reflecting a robust 20.91% growth compared to the previous year. SECI’s Profit After Tax (PAT) stood at ₹436.03 crore, a notable 38.13% increase.
In recognition of its achievements, SECI was awarded Navratna status by the Ministry of Finance on August 30, 2024. This milestone underscores the company's pivotal role in driving India’s renewable energy expansion.
