Scindia: Rising North East Summit Secures ₹4.18 Lakh Crore in MoUs.
The 'Rising North East Investors Summit 2025', currently underway in the national capital, has already seen the announcement of Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) worth a staggering ₹4.18 lakh crore, Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia stated recently.
The summit, inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Bharat Mandapam, is designed to showcase India's North Eastern region as a burgeoning land of opportunity. Its primary objective is to draw both global and domestic investment by bringing together key stakeholders, investors, and policymakers on a unified platform.
"For the first time, a joint programme for all eight states of the northeast is underway," Scindia told reporters. He highlighted the extensive preparatory efforts, which included roadshows in major Indian cities such as Bengaluru, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Chennai, Delhi, Kolkata, and Indore, along with numerous meetings with various industrial groups.
"As a result of this effort, a world-class investment summit was organised. Memorandums of Understanding worth ₹4.18 lakh crore have been announced," Scindia affirmed, underscoring the success of these proactive engagement strategies in attracting significant investment interest in the region.
