Radisson to double hotel portfolio by 2022.
Radisson Hotel Group has announced plans to double the number of hotels in India by 2022. This is as per the company’s Destination 2022, a five year strategic road map, to expand its base in India.“Currently, we have 94 operating hotels and have 49 hotels in pipeline. By this year-end we will have 100 operating hotels. Every year we sign 12 to 15 new hotels and open 7 to 10 new hotels. We will reach our target of 200 hotels by 2022,” said Zubin Saxena, MD and V-P, operations, South Asia, Radisson Hotel Group.
It had signed 15 hotels in India in 2018 and had already signed four more properties in 2019.
The objective to open more hotels in Tier II and Tier III cities and be present in north east and central India which lacks international hospitality.
Within the next 12 months, the company will open its first Radisson RED hotel in India at Mohali. Plans are afloat to bring the newly introduced Radisson Collection brand to India in the near future.
“When we embarked on Destination 2022, we knew that South Asia would be a key part of its success. We have created a series of transformational, innovative new initiatives covering all aspects of our business,” said Katerine Giannouka, president, Asia- Pacific, Radisson Hotel Group.
“They include EMMA, a global unified technology platform, strengthened brands, enhanced commercial strategies and operations protocol,” she said.
Currently, out of the company’s seven brands, five brands are operating in India. These include Radisson BLU, Radisson, Park Plaza, Park Inn and Country Inn & Suites.
