President to inaugurate five projects.
Security has been strengthened in Kozhikode city in view of President Pranab Mukherjee's visit.
About 1,000 police personnel drawn from various wings have been deployed in the city. Special teams will be deployed at four places, Calicut Airport, Kadavu Resort, Vikram Maidan and the UL Cyber Park, where the President will be present.
Additional Director General of Police (North Zone) Nitin Agrawal is supervising the security arrangements.
He is assisted by Inspector General of Police (Kannur Range), Commissioner of Police, Kozhikode City, and Superintendent of Police, Malappuram. The President, who is on his maiden visit to Kozhikode, will inaugurate five major projects, including UL Cyber Park and Gender Park
The projects will be launched at the Special Economic Zone of UL Cyber Park of the Uralungal Labour Contract Cooperative Society (ULCCS) at Nellikode on the Kozhikode Bypass at 12.50 p.m.
The President will declare the schemes and unveil the commemorative plaques. These include the declaration of Kerala as Digital State; launch of the Digital Employment Campaign; declaration of Kanivu (The Compassion Kerala) Scheme; inauguration of the UL Cyber Park and dedication of Gender Park.
