PNC Infratech Cleared to Bid for New Projects as MoRTH Lifts Restrictions.
PNC Infratech (PNC) and its special purpose vehicles (SPVs) will be eligible to bid for new infrastructure projects from February 17, 2025, following the Ministry of Road Transport & Highways (MoRTH) decision to reduce its restrictions from one year to four months.
The revised order, issued by MoRTH on February 6, 2025, modifies the original restriction imposed on October 18, 2024, allowing PNC to actively pursue fresh projects, subject to completing certain procedures with the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI).
PNC Infratech currently holds an order book of over ₹19,900 crore (as of September 30, 2024), with major
EPC projects under construction, including:
- Prayagraj – Kaushambi project (MoRTH)
- Jalna-Nanded & Pune ring road projects (Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation)
- Akkalkot Pkg-II (Badadal-Maradgi S), Sonali – Gorakhpur & Kanpur-Lucknow Expressway Pkg-2 (NHAI)
In a key development, PNC received in-principle approval from NHAI to transfer its 100% stake in two subsidiaries—Bundelkhand and Khajuraho road projects—to KKR-backed Highways Infrastructure Trust. This PNC-KKR deal is on track for closure by March 31, 2025, as the company secures change-in-control approvals from NHAI for eight assets and completes necessary lender approvals.
The lifting of restrictions positions PNC Infratech for renewed expansion in the infrastructure sector, reinforcing its role in national development.
