PMC move to start Nagar Road BRTS corridor raises eyebrows.

THE Nagrik Chetna Manch has welcomed the move by the Pune Municipal Corporation to roll out the Nagar Road BRTS corridor, though saying that the infrastructure work on the route has not been completed so far.

“We are given to believe that PMC is planning to roll out the Nagar Road corridor on January 1. That is a good decision especially since this project is long overdue and has caused untold inconvenience because it has been limping along with no end in sight since Sept 2012 because of extremely poor planning by PMC’s JnNURM department,” said Qaneez Sukhrani, secretary of the manch in letter to the PMC commissioner.

Sukhrani said, “We have over this time had innumerable interactions and site visits with your teams. However, we would like to once again point out that success or failure depends on whether this roll out is effected with or without the various important aspects of infrastructure being in place as discussed during the meetings.”
