Nokia Siemens wins GPRS deal from Unitech Wireless

New Delhi: Unitech Wireless will use GPRS technology from Nokia Siemens Network (NSN) for managing its core network throughout India under a three-year contract.

GPRS network is utilised to offer data services on mobile handsets for which NSN will supply the equipment.

Nokia Siemens Networks will provide an entire gamut of services ranging from network implementation and network operations.

It will implement IP/Multi Protocol Layer Switching technology and design an end-to-end packet core network.

Unitech Wireless is a joint venture between Unitech and Finland-based telecom firm Telenor and it plans to launch services by this year-end.
